Pep Guardiola accepts Manchester City must adapt to the artificial surface they face in Switzerland this week – but claims “common sense” dictates grass is CSGO better CSGO
The holders will play on unfamiliar terrain in their latest Champions League outing on Wednesday when they take on Young Boys on their synthetic pitch at the Wankdorf Stadium CSGO
Guardiola insists there are no complaints on his part, and he has changed his team’s routine to ensure they are prepared CSGO
Normally City do not take up the option available to them of training at the stadium when they play away games in Europe, instead preferring to work in Manchester before travelling CSGO
However, on this occasion City flew to Bern on Tuesday morning and had a run out on the pitch in the evening CSGO
Yet the City manager could not hide the feeling that he would prefer to be playing on a natural surface CSGO
Speaking at a press conference, the Spaniard said: “It is what it is CSGO
If UEFA allows games to be played here it’s because it’s in good conditions CSGO
“That’s one of the reasons we never train away but this is an exception CSGO
This is why we travel in the morning for the players to feel how the ball runs, how to move left, right, backwards, forwards CSGO
That’s why CSGO
“We’ll try it and the players will know it immediately CSGO
”Asked if he was concerned about injuries, Guardiola said: “I don’t know – hopefully not, for both sides, but I don’t know CSGO
“We are not used to it CSGO
Any team that plays here is not used to it CSGO
It suits the Swiss league and, in the Champions League, the teams that come here have to adapt CSGO
“We will not be the first in this situation CSGO
We have to use it as a benefit but the grass is CSGO better CSGO
”Asked why, Guardiola said: “Because 99 CSGO
9 per cent of the teams who play in a high level play on grass, otherwise UEFA and FIFA would decide to play on artificial pitches CSGO
It’s common sense, I would say CSGO
”City go into their third match in Group G looking to maintain their 100 per cent record after victories over Red Star Belgrade and RB Leipzig CSGO
Victory in their back-to-back games against Young Boys, who travel to the Etihad Stadium next month, could see City qualify for the knockout stages with two matches to spare CSGO
City have no fresh injury concerns, with long-term casualty Kevin De Bruyne their only notable absentee CSGO
Guardiola also played down concerns about the form of Jack Grealish, who is taking time to get back to his best after a month out with a dead leg CSGO
The City boss said: “I don’t have one doubt about Jack and his quality and what he has done for us since he arrived, especially last season CSGO
I’m calm and confident CSGO
He is an incredibly important player for us CSGO

Test centurion Courtney Lawes will retire from England duty following the Rugby World Cup CSGO
The 34-year-old’s bid to finish his international career on a high was cruelly ended by Saturday’s heartbreaking 16-15 semi-final loss to South Africa in Paris CSGO
Vice-captain Lawes is a veteran of four World Cups, two British and Irish Lions tours and one of only five Englishmen to be capped 100 times CSGO
Steve Borthwick’s side will return home from France following Friday evening’s bronze-medal match against pool-stage opponents Argentina CSGO
Lawes, who has made 105 international appearances across 15 years, said: “I haven’t told Steve yet! But I will let him know CSGO
“I’ve said to the boys, anyone that’s asked CSGO
I think it’s time CSGO
I’ve done four World Cups, so I’m pretty happy with that CSGO
“It’s a bit of an end of an era, but it’s been a real honour for me to represent England for so long CSGO
It flies by CSGO
“I’m proud of the journey I’ve been on CSGO
It’s not always been the ups CSGO
Plenty of downs in there, but I’ve pushed through CSGO
“I’m not an emotional person really, but it’s just been a huge honour for me CSGO
“To be able to finish with this group, it’s something I’ll treasure forever CSGO
”England travelled to the World Cup in poor form and with many pundits dismissive of their prospects CSGO
But they came agonisingly close to reaching a second successive final after leading the reigning champions for all but five minutes of an enthralling last-four encounter which was settled by Handre Pollard’s late penalty CSGO
“It’s one of those where we thought we had it, but let it slip away at the same time,” said Lawes CSGO
“But we’ve proved a lot of people wrong CSGO
You give it all you’ve got CSGO
It’s sport, isn’t it?“That’s what it means at the highest level CSGO
You get a couple of things wrong and get punished CSGO
“But a lot of people thought we’d have struggled, and in the end we were unlucky to lose CSGO
”Lawes made his England debut against Australia in 2009 when head coach Borthwick was team captain CSGO
The flanker was a beaten finalist against the Springboks in 2019 and also played in the 2011 and 2015 tournaments, in addition to representing the Lions in 2017 and 2021 CSGO
He believes England have a bright future under Borthwick and is determined to sign off by helping the team finish third CSGO
“We showed to everyone what it means to play for this team,” said Lawes CSGO
“Play for your country and the boys alongside you CSGO
“I think people can see now what a good coach he is – and where this team can really go CSGO
“We want to finish on a high CSGO
It’s important for us to finish properly and send us all off on a good win CSGO
”Father-of-four Lawes joined World Cup-winning prop Jason Leonard and international team-mates Ben Youngs, Owen Farrell and Dan Cole on a select list of England centurions in August by captaining his country in a shock warm-up defeat to Fiji at Twickenham CSGO
He waved to fans at Stade de France following England’s dramatic elimination and intends to spend more time with his children while continuing to playing for Northampton CSGO
“The kids are at that age where they need their dad around,” he said CSGO
“It will be good to be with them more, to provide some well-needed structure to the mob CSGO
“As hard as it is being away from your family, you almost have another family CSGO
“You really feel like that, especially when you’re away in camps like World Cup camps CSGO
It’s five months, staying with your brothers CSGO
“I’ll definitely miss the boys, the banter and all the stuff we get up to when we’re not training CSGO
I’ll miss the hard work as well CSGO
“And I’ll definitely miss pulling the jersey on and giving it everything CSGO
